You know, once you have kids, events that you previously ignored or found somewhat annoying take on a whole new meaning. Witness the local homecoming parade. Before Katherine, we really were only aware of this since, if we weren't home by 5:30, our street was closed off and we couldn't get home. Now, this is big time fun. I'll admit, there are some totally cool student groups: percussion ensembles, jump-ropers, a basketball dribbling team, and - my personal favorite - the unicycle team.
Katherine liked yelling at her balloon: "Come back here, Bloona!" Then she'd pull it down, let it go, and yell at it all over again as it floated back up. (Note to self: must find a way to channel Katherine's innate commandishness for the purposes of good instead of evil.)
Anica and Katherine ate lots of candy...
...and we learned that Katherine definitely does NOT like Twizzlers.
